Great app. Could be better with enhanced features such as selectable pitch differences but overall, very useful.

I really enjoy this app, and it’s great practice for hearing intonation. However, I purchased the flute sound, and it’s absolutely horrendous. It sounds like a dying goat. Disappointed that I spent money on that sound, but I guess I’ll continue just using the pure tone for now.
AWESOM DESIGN but you should be able to To limit how high/low it goes and be able to listen to each tone again.
great little ear training app for helping discern lower and higher pitches. The only thing I could wish for is a better sample sound for string instruments, that sounds more like a real instrument.
I wish there was a feature where you can choose different instruments for each pitch. Like have one on piano and one on oboe, make it more real world application
Easy to use, well-Designed tool for musicians. It’s useful both for soloists and ensemble members. Helps to improve pitch differentiation/accuracy. Highly recommended!
You guys seriously decided to use those sound files and selling them? You can do better than that
I hope this app never gets taken down from the store. It’s a great idea! I wish there were more apps with ear training on the App Store.
Thank you! I use this app with my percussion students to help their ear for timpani tuning. It’s fun for them and I’m noticing improvement!
The reason the description to the app is so vague is because the app is incredibly simplistic, and really just junk. Here’s what it is since the designers don’t tell you. You hear a tone, then you hear another tone. You decide whether the second tone is higher or lower. That is the entire program. I actually thought that it would be interactive, as in you hear a tone, then sing the same tone, or in my case play that tone on the violin. No. Nothing like that. Really just a sound generator.
I use this for tuning practice and highly recommend it. The old version was better in my opinion, but I still like this version. I like that the pitches are not played as fast with this new version, but I liked the scoring with the old version. I would love it if there were a way to hear the pitches played again. Sometimes a second listen is needed to make sure your brain is thinking correctly. Neither the first or second version has offered this. I figured that would be among the list of improvements foe sure. Also maybe something telling you where your problem areas are… which octaves… and those could be used to drill down even further.
my choir teacher showed us this so i got it on my phone and it is amazing! super easy and simple to use and i think it will help be be a better singer.
I remember this app from back in the day. I redownloaded recently and I’m very happy to see the expanded range of notes to hear, and the variety of instruments. This app is a fun way to test and improve your ear, and I highly recommend for anyone who wants to fine tune their ears. My only complain is that some of the timpani sounds could be improved. The higher notes sound fine, but the low notes have so much impact and thud that it makes it really hard to hear the actual tone and pitch of the drum. Those low notes sound more like a bass drum than they do timpani. I think it would be beneficial if the timpani notes were played with a much softer mallet, as well as a lighter touch. That would create a more characteristic sound that mimics how a timpanist would actually play the drum. I hope I can see that improved as that’s the only thing holding back my rating from 4 stars to 5. Again though, very useful app and definitely worth being on any musicians phone.
It is a blow mind app! Awesome! Highly recommended
Wonderful app! I hope this app will one day be on both IOS and Android devices! Also, I saw that there was a InTune Pro version of this app? Is that your app or did someone steal it?? I just wanted to make sure!!
If you have an Iphone13, don't bother. It's too buggy to be useful
Love it!! Fun to play, and my scores are progressing in the right direction!
Clever, helpful app—Would love to see it developed further!
This app could is helping me to be better at pitch. I liked the version previous better. In the previous version once you set a sound, it stayed on that sound the next time you opened the app. This version asks for your choice of sound between games whether you keep the app open or restart it. The old version had a chart that shows you where your score puts you on a spectrum of users. The new app tells you where in the spectrum your score is on the spectrum. Overall it runs a tad slower. Still it’s super valuable!
You should be able to replay the sound.
Terrific app for when I want a quick distraction and a bit of practice. Beautiful interface, quick and fun, and I’m getting steadily better! The Cello add-on was well worth the buck-really enjoy hearing the instrument. Think I’ll buy oboe next.
Overall I think this is a great app and I love using it. The addition of the new timbre choices at a rather reasonable $0.99 is a nice touch. However, the oboe option is broken, and the flat oboe sound is qualitatively different from the sharp oboe sound which makes practicing on that choice trivially easy. The English horn option somehow doesn’t have this issue; if I memorize exactly how the vibrato behaves in the flat vs sharp versions i could use that to hack the game but it’s something I can choose to ignore. I haven’t tried any of the other options but I recommend looking into them to make sure that the only thing differing is the pitch and not the tone quality/behavior; even if those differences are subtle people are bound to pick up on them.
🤩
I like this app
Definitely helps improve your tone, and it’s also kind of addicting
I’d love to try a version with two notes simultaneously!
This game was super fun at first and really tested my hearing. However when I opted to change the instrument to the violin, I was super disappointed. The audio for the violin includes vibrato, which distorts the pitch and made it a lot harder to continue with the game
Hey! This is a great app I plan to be a singer when I grow up and this really helps me with knowing if I vote the right note or not it is also challenging and fun! I am so happy you created this app! Thank you!
This app is one of the finest of its kind. I’ve had this for about 4 years now and I can safely say I feel a lot more secure in my ability to distinguish intonation differences; there is always room to constantly improve and that is what I love about this app!
Here are a few features I’d like to see added: - ability to start at any level - ability to repeat the tones - ability to turn off three strike mode
I would love to have an option to change the note we are listening to (it’s always the same note), and an option to skip the first several levels
I love this app but the most recent update has changed the “pure tone” sound. It’s missing the attack of the original sound and is not a pure sine wave anymore but more like a flute sound. I hope they fix this on the next update.
This app has aided my ear so much. What I appreciate about it is, compared to so many others with busy interfaces and hundreds of options, it’s limited it to one thing. But it’s a VERY crucial thing! The support is really quick and professional, as well.
This is AMAZING MUST TRY!!!!!
Is the test score accurate? It seems easy to get to 1% but according to the app intro page 1% is rare. I’m thinking the testing may not be accurate. Mostly depends on the device.
whenever I get a chance i’ll open it up to train a little. The comparison chart might be a tiny bit off, my middle school students consistently get 5% or below.
I have discovered that some of my prior issues with this app have already been resolved, they are simply hard to find. A more noticeable options menu should be created and the option to play the notes at the same time should also be added.
Great app! I agree with other reviewers that three things that would improve the app: 1) ability to replay tones. (Especially after you got it wrong) 2) ability to practice without going back to 100% difference after missing three and 3) ability to choose the starting level.
Yeah it would definitely be useful to include a repeat feature and more importantly a level selection feature
I would give it 5 stars except for the glaringly obvious omission of being able to repay a pair of tones. Sometimes you miss the tones because someone talked or there was a loud noise. It can’t be hard; please add this in (didn’t it exist in previous iterations?). Please and thank you.
Very simple 🎵👂🎶 training app. that really requires me to listen closely.
I like the concept of this game but I would very much like to be able to select other intervals instead of only straight unison. Ie. Octaves or fifths, etc. Also, it should record your high score and average.
As a middle school band director I use this app to help my students start listening more carefully to fine differences in pitch. It’s very easy to understand and I like the binary choice between higher and lower. Since it resets each time to easier levels, the kids who got lost when we made it to the really fine distinctions are able to rejoin us. InTune really helps them start paying closer attention to pitch.
My students can only stand using this for 20 seconds. The tone they use sounds like an emergency alert on the TV. Can you offer tone choices?
I purchased the app one night late, and had no sound. Instantly emailed the designer. The next morning I received a reply and a working solution! Great app for tuning my ear, and awesome customer service!!
It would be perfect if the pitch can be changed to 442, 443, and even 444.
I don't know if it works but it's a simple game and I'm getting better at hearing it!
I love how this app is challenging me to hear pitch in more fine grained ways.
This is a great app to help musicians improve their pitch discrimination, which in turn will improve in donation. Please please please add a feature to enable people to save their score from one use to the next!
